How To Grow Out Your Grey In Style

Grey hair. We all get it at some point or another. But what used to be deemed the definition of unsightly is now being embraced by the stars. As well as Andie MacDowell, who went a salt-and-pepper colour over lockdown, other A-listers that have worn their greys with pride include Salma Hayek, Sharon Stone and Sarah Jessica Parker.
It might seem easier for an A-list star to pull off a silver root, but actually we can all do it if we have a good colourist on hand. According to Hannah Gayle, one of our Hershesons colourists, the trick is to try the blended grey look. “It’s all about working with your natural grey, adding soft creamy colours into the hair to enhance the natural grey tones, which can help blend it in beautifully.”
Adding that this technique is low maintenance, natural looking and incredibly chic, it’s how celebrity colourists are helping their clients get used to their new grey strands. It’s also a great way to help grey grow into the rest of the hair in a really gradual way.
So if your greys are becoming more prominent, why not speak to one of our colourists for some advice? The blended grey technique might just be for you.
