RULE #1 - WASH IT LESS OFTEN
The natural oils in your hair help hydrate the scalp which is important to stop dryness occurring. The over use of shampoo can strip the scalp of these important oils. Don't wash your hair more than you have to. Whenever you can skip a day, that's great! Embrace the dry shampoo.
RULE #2 - BE SHAMPOO READY!
Pre shampoo/ condition your hair before it gets wet.
Whether you’re looking to soften brittle strands or give your scalp a detox, a pre-shampoo hair treatment can help you achieve that. We will admit it does seem a little strange to apply a conditioning formula
before your actual shampoo, but adding this extra step to your routine can seriously change your hair game for the better.
RULE #3 - GET SMARTER ABOUT YOUR SHAMPOO
You get what you pay for with shampoo – cheap brands tend to be more cosmetic and give you instant shine but may not have any long term benefits – premium brands tend to tackle the root of the problem (that pun was 100% intended) for a cure as opposed to just instant treatment. These are also a lot kinder to the condition of your hair.
RULE #4 - CHANGE THE WAY YOU THINK ABOUT CONDITIONER
Be conditioner specific - it's not one size fits all unfortunately. You need to think about your needs and select the conditioner via what you need.
RULE #5 - ADD LAYERS
"This is nonsense and an old hairdressing myth" says
Luke Hersheson, "If you go into a salon thinking like this you may end up looking like an 80’s pop star" However, when applying heat spray or protecting serums, always divide your hair into layers to make sure you protect not just the top layer of your hair.
RULE #6 - MOVE THINGS ALONG
Anything that speeds up a blow dry is good—less heat means less damage. Try blotting the hair before hand or add a quick dry spray. Always rough dry on a medium to hot setting until your hair is bone dry before you begin styling with a brush this speeds things up and uses less concentrated heat which means less damage.
RULE #7 - SAVE YOUR OLD SHIRTS
Cotton shirts are a lot less harsh on the cuticles of your hair than a towel. Drying your hair with an old shirt causes less breakage and frizz.
RULE #8 - COOL YOUR HEAD
Using cool air after hot air will help set the hair style in place. If your hair still feels hot after your blow dry it means the hair is still frying! Pressing the cool button on the hairdryer will cool your hair causing less damage. Our
Professional Ionic Hair Dryer comes with different heat settings to get the temperature just right.
RULE #9 - GET CREATIVE
You don't have to blow dry your hair to create a certain look. Embrace the 'air dryer' and let your hair dry naturally over night for beachy waves. By twisting or plaiting your damp hair before you sleep this will tame the frizz.
RULE #10 - TREAT YOURSELF
Get regular hair and scalp treatments. You should treat your hair like your skin because it deserves the same respect.
