THE FASTEST WAY TO GET BEACHY WAVES
So, you want Beachy Waves that look effortlessly tousled and natural. Not tonged within an inch of their lives. And you’ve only got five minutes to spare.
No time? No problem. Luke Hersheson just created the new Dry Bun Method to get you that easy, beach-blessed movement when the clock is ticking.
“Beachy waves continue to be one of the most sought-after looks. The trick to getting them right is to create a style that feels effortless and works with the natural texture of your hair – rather than looking like you’ve just stepped out of a salon.” – Luke Hersheson
To perfect the Dry Bun Method in 8 simple steps:
- After washing your hair, squeeze out any excess moisture with a microfibre towel.
- Use your fingers to comb a generous pump of Almost Everything Cream (two if your hair is especially thick), through the mid-lengths and ends.
- Twist your hair up into several buns. The number will depend on the length and thickness of your hair – not to mention how wavy you want your hair (the more buns, the smaller the hair sections, the tighter your waves will be). As you’ll see from the video, three to four works nicely. Secure the buns with dent-free clips.
- Dry your hair using a diffuser on a low heat for a few minutes.
- Untwist each bun, wrapping the hair around two fingers to enhance the twist and movement as you go.
- Use a smidgen more Almost Everything Cream to your mid-lengths and ends to smooth any frizz, add shine and tame flyaways.
- Rewind your hair back into buns to allow the movement to ‘set’ while you do your makeup, grab a coffee or catch up on Netflix.
- Bring your hair forward over your shoulders, using your fingers to shape it around your face. Do not brush or you’ll lose all that lovely movement!
- Apply a plum-sized ball of Zhoosh Foam to the palm of one hand and rub it into your crown, roots or anywhere you need a little extra lift. Scrunch whatever’s left into your mid-lengths to enhance those beachy waves and give them some staying power.
